Antipodes Taking Over my Skincare routine

Saturday, 30 April 2016

If you follow my blog or youtube channel you will know I have slowly been replacing all my old skincare and makeup products with cruelty free, vegan versions.  It took me years to perfect my skincare routine and finally a mostly clear complexion so changing up my products has been quite a big deal but one that, environmentally and ethically, for me is totally worth it.

I have heard a lot about the Antipodes range and as they are sold in my local health food shop it's an easy brand for me to try out.  I liked the sound of the Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser so I had a little sniff (very important in early pregnancy to like the smell!), luckily it was a lovely natural and inoffensive fragrance so it passed that test, phew.  It is super gentle but really effective at removing makeup, I do usually remove my makeup first with a different product and let it take off the last residue but often I don't have the time (or the patience) to do two cleansing steps and when I use it on it's own, it removes everything brilliantly too.

I have gotten pretty lazy with my skincare routine since becoming pregnant and as a result have reduced the amount of layers I apply each morning and night, wanting to keep it as minimal as possible.  A combination of that and going off the smell of the face oil I was previously using meant my skin was becoming very dry and annoyed.  The Divine Face Oil says it rejuvenates tired, stressed and sun damaged skin which is a pretty accurate description of my face (the sun worshipper in me, oops, I promise to be kinder to my face this summer), it also has lots of natural anti-ageing ingredients in so this buy was a no brainer.  So far I absolutely love it and have found that I can actually wear foundation for the first time since getting pregnant without it flaking off my face.  Very quick and obvious results which I always love!

From a packaging point of view, I like metal tubes but I'm not a fan of the teeny tiny cap, I'm always in a rush and can never do it up properly without giving it some major concentration!  I love the glass bottle the oil comes in and the gold cap makes it feel quite luxe, which is always nice.  They are both recyclable apart from the caps so for that reason I suppose it's good they are small!

Have you tried anything from the Antipodes range?  What should I try next?
