Winter Skincare Saviours

Monday, 7 December 2015

Like many people in the winter months, my skin gets a lot dryer, sensitive and sometimes sore.  I hate suffering from a painful face and I'm sure you do too, here are the products that have saved my skin this winter and kept it free from dry patches and soreness.

I'll start with the thrifty Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser by Superdrug, as well as being a fantastic cleanser for the price, it's also vegan and cruelty-free.  I have to say I was sceptical as a long term lover of Liz Earle but I have been pleasantly surprised by this find and will add it to my list of 'skincare to buy when I'm feeling poor'.  It says it's good for normal to dry skin but I am definitely in the combination/sensitive skin bracket and its perfect for me.  I'd say this is a perfect allrounder and with the muslin cloth that comes included you get great exfoliation too.

The newest arrival in my skincare routine is the Alpha H Liquid Gold, this has been on the wish list for years, literally years.  The only reason for not buying it being my terrible organisational skills and lack of memory. Anyway, I'm very glad it's finally in my life and it's not leaving any time soon.  Used every other evening, I sweep it over my face and neck with a cotton pad and leave it to work its magic over night.  I wake up in the morning with smooth, plump, glowing skin and then mentally kick myself for not having purchased it sooner.

Hylamide is a little bottle of skin plumping, hydrating goodness - read my in-depth review here.

Finally, Embriolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a cult makeup artist kit-staple and for good reason, most moisturisers, even ones for dry skin leave my skin feeling tight and in need of another layer or three but with this one, I satisfyingly use my pea sized blob and feel thoroughly quenched.  The big sized tube will last you bloody months.
