Hair and Skincare Hauling

Wednesday, 1 October 2014

There is genuinely, almost nothing I like more than heading out to the shops with a nice little long list of beauty products to purchase.  These days it happens a little less often than I'd like, but blimey do I appreciate it when I can!

I'm currently on the hunt for a really volumising shampoo/conditioner/styling product combo (suggestions please!) and I have heard a lot about the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer in the past so when I came across the Body Builder shampoo and conditioner and Maximizer volume spray in the Marks and Spencers beauty hall, I keenly chucked them in the basket.  I particularly like how nourishing the conditioner feels but other than that I'm not sure I have found my holy grail shampoo and conditioner.  I love, however, the Maximizer volume spray.  I spray the roots and lengths thoroughly and then work it through with my fingers before blow drying and it gives my hair lot of texture and thickness. Needed!

I ran out of my beloved Effeclar Duo + a month or so ago and stupidly thought I could live without it as my skin was great at the time, slowly but surely my skin went down hill and after a couple of weeks I was covered in spots, blemishes and just general horridness.  Its been back in my life for a couple of weeks now and I'm happy to say my clear skin is back fighting!

Another product that has definitely helped to clear my skin again, is the Origins Modern Friction face scrub - my love affair with Origins continues!  I use it two or three times a week and if I don't do a face mask afterwards, I stick my Effeclar Duo + straight on so that the La Roche Posay goodness gets right in there and works its magic.

I have been struggling to get hold of the Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream recently so I reluctantly scoured the shelves for something in a similar price range that was still very natural and that hopefully wouldn't break me out.  I have been intrigued by the Yes To range for a while so I grabbed the Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturiser for combination skin.  It smells beautiful and hasn't broken me out, while I like it a lot, it doesn't feel as hydrating as the Oilatum.  Should I be brave and try the one for  dry skin?
