Maybelline Super Stay 24 Colour and Bold Matte Review

The Maybelline Super Stay 24 Colour and bold matte lipsticks have been on my wish list for a while so I thought I would take advantage of the 3 for 2 recently and try out a few of the lovely shades they have.  My only reason for picking these up over Maxfactor Infinity is the more varied shade range.  I have a wedding in a couple of weeks and am after a bright shade that stays put all day so I can eat, drink and chat as much as I like without worrying about my lip colour fading...

My thoughts on the Maybelline Super Stay 24 range - the main attraction, as mentioned above, is the beautiful shades they do, compared to the Maxfactor Infinity range they seem younger and more fun. They apply well with amazing pigment but do take a while to lose the tackiness which needs to happen before you can apply the balm.  You need to make sure you have exfoliated your lips really well before hand as it doesn't sit well over any dryness, but it doesn't make your lips feel any dryer after applying.  I wasn't that impressed with how the colour wears over time, it clings really well to the dry part of the lip, but doesn't react well with the moisture on the inside of the lip, creating a bit of a visible separation.  Not attractive.  You also can't touch these lip colours up after a few hours as it goes all weird and needs to be removed completely so you can totally reapply, to remove these colours completely you definitely need some sort of a makeup remover.  Hmmm, so not the best lip product I have come across which is disappointing as the colour range is so lovely!

What recommendations do you have for a long lasting bright lip colour that include orange or pink in the shade range?

UPDATE:  So, I wore the orange shade today and it lasted PERFECTLY all day, and it was HOT and sweaty today.  I ate, I drank, I talked a lot, I had toddler hands all over my face at bed time... and its still looking like I just applied it.  God knows, but perhaps these little babies are better than I first thought!
