Eyeko Skinny Liner

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen the beautiful birthday present I received from my lovely family in the form of a Canon 600D!  I have wanted a DSLR since I studied photography, a scary amount of years ago now... I am old enough for it to have been acceptable to use a proper film SLR and we even printed our photos in the dark room!  Do they still do that on photography A levels and degrees now?  Please say they do otherwise I feel ancient!  Anyway, the 600D has long been a bloggers favourite and with so many amazing reviews it has definitely been on my wish list for a long time, here is my first post using my new favourite toy, I still have a lot to learn!

I have been wanting to try the new Eyeko products since I heard they were rebranding a couple of years ago, I remember Eyeko back in the day when it was cheap as chips with Japanese style packaging, infact it was the first blogging event I ever went to (I used to have another blog)!  There is no getting away from the fact that since then the prices have rocketed but along with that is some beautiful packaging and a better product, where the liner is concerned anyway as I havent tried anything else yet.  I used to have the old Eyeko liner which I did really like then, the main difference from what I can remember is that the new one has much better staying power and also has a more intense black colour.  I think the price of the old one was around £5 and this one is £12, which is quite a jump but I think its a very reasonable price for a great product.

It applies really well from any angle, which some felt tip liners struggle to do, and it creates a very black inky line, you can get quite thin with it and also pretty thick.  I reckon even the biggest rub of the eye wouldn't smudge it but it is in no way water proof, which it doesn't claim to be (if you are after a seriously waterproof liner go for MAC Liquidlast Liner).  It is quick and easy to apply, and is also great for tightlining underneath your top lash line even though its not waterproof it stayed there all day on me!

I just had to quickly mention my favourite mascara of all time; Maxfactor 2000 Calorie Dramatic Volume, I have used it for years and repurchased countless times!  It has a dryer formula that creates length and volume without being clumpy and the brush is tapered at the end so it is small enough to reach the little lashes too.  Its a good all rounder and does the job better than any other mascara I have tried!

  1. Ohh....I did see that posh camera of yours Lucy!! ;)

  2. I love that eyeliner! I got it in my Birchbox a couple of months ago and it's brilliant.
