Bristol Fashion Week SS14

On Friday I was lucky enough to attend Bristol Fashion Week SS14 with a bloggers pass so I could tweet and instagram my way through the show.  It was my first time going to BFW and I wasn't sure what to expect, I have been to London Fashion Week in the past when I was a student at London College of Fashion, mainly to the smaller shows for up and coming designers and I was back stage doing hair and makeup so it was great to be on the other side.

This was a much more commercial affair with lots of entertainment and dancing which went down very well with the audience.  It was presented by TV fashion stylist, Mark Heyes and celebrity hair stylist, Andrew Barton.  I used to pass Mark in the corridor when I worked ITV so I felt like I should be waving and saying "Hi, Mark, over here!"  But he doesn't actually know who I am, so I suppressed the urge and watched the show like a sane person.  They both did a great job and made it entertaining and fun to watch.  The models were great and because the show was very commercial they weren't stick thin which I personally loved and I'm sure then men in the audience did too!

The Body Shop took care of the makeup and the hair was created by Tomlinsons, Clifton.  The models were sporting a bright spring lip, which hazarding a guess I think might have been Body Shops's Colour Crush Lipstick in 105 Coral Cutie,  luckily I bumped in to one of the models after the show, so I  managed to get a quick close up!

John Lewis and Marks and Spencers showed of some particularly lovely dresses, which my mum would tell me is because I'm getting old but I genuinely thought they were very on-trend and beautifully cut, I have a few weddings coming up this year so I left with lots of things added to my wish list!

All in all, a really great event which surpassed my expectations and I recommend it to all the Bristolian shopaholics out there after some new outfit inspiration and a few expert tips.
