Fashion week beauty trends

Wednesday, 26 February 2014

I was browsing through the fashion week hair and makeup trends on the Cosmopolitan website, and thought I would share my favourites with you.  I noticed there is a lot of 'undone' hair and lots of fresh dewy skin, suggesting a low maintenance look overall being favoured for Autumn Winter 2014, always a winner in my book!  The less natural trends were plenty of eyeliner sported in sultry emerald green, bright blues and pinks through to the classic black.  There were quite a few dark red lips too.

Here are my picks...

Left: Antonio Beradi at London Fashion Week.  Makeup by Gucci Westman, hair by Eugene Souleiman.  Gucci Westman is a favourite makeup artist of mine, I love the matching dark green eyeliner and nails and the hair looks natural and effortless.  Right: Topshop Unique at London Fashion Week.  Makeup by Hannah Murray, hair  by Anthony Turner.  Again, I have loved Hannah Murray's work since uni, I like the smudgy liner, so simple but effective.

Left: Burberry at London Fashion Week.  Makeup by Wendy Rowe.  The dirty smokey eye and bed head hair is a relaxed, easy look to achieve.  Right: Fendi at Milan Fashion Week.  Makeup by Peter Phillips, hair by Sam McKnight.  I am a big fan of Sam McKnight and I love this simple, polished hair and makeup.

Creatures of the Wind, New York Fashion Week.  Makeup by James Boehmer, hair by Odile Gilbert.  I love a big messy braid, who doesn't!

Left: Grace at London Fashion Week.  Makeup by Lisa Eldridge, hair by Eugene Souleiman.  There had to be one in there by Lisa Eldridge, a classic beautiful makeup is what she does best.  I love the lashes and the plait is really pretty.  Right: Naeem Kahn at New York Fashion Week.  Makeup by James Boehmer.  Such a tried and tested look that never fails to look amazing, clean and simple but defined.

There were many more but this is a selection of my favourite looks from the shows so far, I'm looking forward to seeing the hair and makeup from Paris Fashion Week... and of course don't forget Bristol Fashion Week!
